Julie
We made a reservation last year through a website called www.123france.com that offered good promotions. We stayed at a four star hotel for half the brochure price - it worked out at about £80 for a double which I think is about $150. This was for a deluxe room with jacuzzi. It was brilliant - right next to the trocadero gardens across the bridge from the eiffel tower. I would definately go there again. Rooms in paris tend to be small and very expensive. We were delighted with this one. If you need anymore details please feel free to e-mail me. Take a look at the website.

Julie,
In addition to the ones already given, try these:
www.parisdiscount.com
www.hotelboulevard.com

I found www.france-hotel-guide.com and www.hotelboulevard.com the best. Good luck!

Julie, these recommendations are all good sites - however, I would strongly recommend calling the hotels of your choice and inquiring directly about rates. When I book our recent trip, I found that the internet rates were not always the cheapest - case in point, our hotel in Paris was 400 FF less per room when booking directly on the phone. And you can use your basic French, or French phrasebook to make the reservation, then follow-up by email or FAX. Good luck.
