Paris in the summer of 2007...
Hello to all.. My wife and three large teens are heading to Paris this summer for four days. Need a cheap, clean, safe, easy to get to apartment for four nights arriving on July 8th. Budget is $200 USD. Open to apartments or B&B's. Like the B&B route better hoping for more personal care during their stay; directions, advice on where to go, feeling someone watching out for them. Side note, the four have no French language skills, only English and German. Thanks to all, Steve |

Thanks, that was fast. Just sent them an e-mail

You can pretty much forget the concept of a B&B in urban Paris -- they are few and far between in the city.
You should definitely rent an apartment. |
I think your B&B idea is a good one. Here is a great site with all sorts of places in Paris:

What I have heard about B&Bs in Paris is that they may be a part of a family's apartment. For 4 people, that may be cramped to begin with. Not my cup of tea.

hi, stash,
I had a quick look at the B&B link provided by robjame - they certainly don't look like the cramped rooms the OP fears. however, you may have to look for places that take more than 4 prople as most appear to have at least one room with a double bed - any your lot may prefer singles. ditto apartments. good luck with your searches. regards, ann |
There is a lot of fun navigating on the site I gave you above. Here is one that might be ideal. The location is great:
http://tinyurl.com/2j4dsx The advantage of a B&B is that a lot of apartments expect weekly rentals whereas the 4 day stay would be no problem at a B&B. I am assuming that your budget is per night as $200 for 4 nights would be hard. I haven't used this sevice but it comes well recommended by fodorites. |
