Paris in October

My wife and I are heading to Paris in mid October for two weeks. The kast time we were there it was in May and the weather was Awesome! I'm wondering what we can expect then.

You can expect anything. Parisian weather is unpredictible yearround. Therefore, in October it can be warm and also cold and rainy. Just be prepared and bring an umbrella and an appropriate jacket or coat for rain.

We were there last year at the time you plan to visit .
It was mostly a week of gray skies and drizzle except for one beautiful day of blue skies when we took a trip to Fontainbleu. With a raincoat and umbrella everything was fine. I live in NYC and find the weather in Europe is very much like ours... unpredictable. Oct can be grim or glorious!

I hope you already have hotel reservations--rooms are in high demand in October because of the many shows (fashion, trade, and so on).

cosmicvagabond Jun 28th, 2006 05:57 PM

Yes, we have reservations. We are staying in the 7th at the Grand Hotel Leveque on Rue Cler. I have a confirmed reservation there.

We were in Paris last October and the weather was delightful...we will be there again next October.

We were there late last October and had perfect weather--really lovely. The same month, in 2003, we needed coats and had two days of torrential rain.

However, rain or shine, cold or warm, I'll take Paris any way I can get it!

francophile03 Jun 28th, 2006 07:47 PM

That's correct. No matter what type of weather you get when you visit Paris, you are in Paris! It's always going to be good rain or shine!

cosmicvagabond Jun 28th, 2006 07:58 PM

HA, yes.. a terrible day in Paris beats a great day behind a desk!

You never know. I've gone in August. Once in shorts and sweating. THe other time we were in jackets. I would check weather.com the week before.

That's a great saying, cosmivagabond. How true! You should get a copyright. :)

We, too, had beautiful warm weather in Paris last October.

The next week we were in Prague bundled in our winter coats!

Just be sure not to fret if the forecast is rain the entire time you're there. I went early Oct. one year and out of the 5 days of forecasted rain, it rained only once with days temps in the 40s and 50s. Lovely.

We've been during September, May, June April and October. October is our favorite.

I got by with a wool blazer, leather gloves and the ever important parisian scarf in October. It was nice and warm during the day most days but chilly out of the sun.
Ahhhhhh, Paris.
Enjoy!

We too were in Paris the first week and a half of October of last year. Actually we were there from the September 4 - Oct. 8 and almost all of that time the weather was the best that we have ever encountered at that time of year. Up until the day we left, it was mostly shirt sleeve weather all day and well into the evening. We had a few days with a small amount of rain, but the air was still warm.

We have been there the same time on other trips and the weather varied from cold and damp to warm and beautiful. Take an umbrella and a warmer jacket just in case. Our heavier jackets stayed in the suitcase the entire time.

Enjoy.

Nina
