Hey I'm writing again on the right forum now.Any ideas on the transfers frm CDG airport to the hotel. Is taxi-safe?And about how much?Changed our hotel to the Concorde St Lazare.Any input on this hotel?I believe the location is good. Also, we want to go to the cabaret show-Paradiz Latin,is it any good?Want to buy parfum, soaps, and shoes-any recommendations? Also, thinking of getting a haircut-know where?I also want a very good restaurant to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary! We were thinking of Alain Ducasee or any other recommended ones?Thank you in advance.

Taking a taxi from CDG is definitely safe. Tip: have a printout of your hotel's name and address so that nothing will be lost in translation if you don't know French like me.
For those items you want to buy, go check out Galeries Lafayette Printemps. There are individual perfume stores like Sephora and Parfumerie Generale. Same with shoes.
Not sure about Paradis Latin and where to get a good haircut. About the restaurant, Alain Ducasse, my guidebook says you need 6-8 weeks advance reservations. But it's supposed to be pretty good.

I haven't been, but I have read many times that Paradis Latin is one of the best cabaret shows in Paris.
I've never found Paris a particularly good place to buy shoes, myself -- the best ones I've found there were Italian and weren't cheap because they are imported. Might as well buy them elsewhere. I wasn't aware France was known for its shoes.
You can buy perfume, soaps, etc., at any dept. store. There are lots of specialty shops, of course.
I am not familiar with the Concorde St Lazare. It's an okay area, but not right in the thick of things or one of the more attractive areas of Paris IMO. However, if you are staying there, I'm sure you'll have a good time. One of my favorita restaurants is around there, if you want something -- Bistro des Deux Theatres at the corner of rues Blanche and rue Pigalle. It's nice around square de la Trinite over that way.

I ready Suzy's book on Born to Shop Paris. I got a couple of good ideas from her book. The best was going to Catherine's for perfume. Fanny and her family are the best. Fanny has a great nose for what would smell great on you. I have been back to their place 5 times buying perfume. As for shoes I bought those at Galleries Lafayette. I love those shoes. If you want purses my favorite is Longchamp. Remember to show a copy of your passport at Galleries to get a 10% discount.
