Paris in March
I am going to Paris with my 20 year old daughter in March (for my 50th birthday). Does anyone have any suggestions on what we should do together, other than go to the usual tourist spots? Other than the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower, what are coolest things to do? We are only there 4.5 days so don't want to spend more than a day in museums (the Louvre). Thanks for any ideas you have!! By the way, we are staying a mile from the Arc de Triumph on the right bnak.

A lot of visitors enjoy the shopping.

See the Friday night rollerblade rally, if the weather permits.
Stroll through the "passages" (Degas provided a walking itinerary here, if you search for it). Marais and place des Vosges - better on a Sunday. |
check these threads:
"Truly unique experiences in Paris?" and " 100 Great things to do in Paris" or, enter Paris, in quotes, in the search this forum bar, and you'll get lots of information. |
Don't miss St. Chapelle on a sunny day. Shop on the Ile de St. Louis. See the Winged Victory in the Louvre then walk the length of the Tuilleries to the Place de la Concorde. See the Impressionists at the Musee D'Orsay. Have breakfast at the Cafe Bonaparte in St. Germaine.

Although the Louvre is the bigger name, I enjoy the art at the Musee D'Orsay much more.
If you have nice weather, consider a bike tour of downtown Paris http://www.fattirebiketoursparis.com/ their night tour (which concluded with a Seine cruise) was the highlight of my time in Paris. Keith |
