Paris in Feb.
My fiancé an I will be going to Paris for Valentines day weekend, I was wondering what we should expect as in weather conditions. We are trying to decide what to pack.
|
I've been to Paris many times around Valentine's Day and we've always been very lucky with the weather. Relatively warm (50's in the day and 40's at night) and a few light, short showers. That said, you could experience colder, wetter weather. So good advice is always to pack layers... of course, its Paris, u can buy what you need if you bring the wrong clothes! Have a great weekend!

As of a half hour ago , it was 34 degrees F in Paris. If you're from FL or CA, pack long johns. If you're from Minnesota or Chicago, maybe just a warm jacket will do.

We really lucked out with the weather during a mid-Feb 2007 trip to Paris. The highs were in the 50's....everyone was out sunning on the Champ de Mars.
A good packing strategy is to think in layers....is long sleeve shirt, light sweater, jacket, etc. That way you can also undress as you warm up when walking or when in museums, etc. Good, warm shoes for walking are a must. I like my La Canadienne fuzzy wool lined boots with a small heel....warm like Uggs but chic enough to wear out to dinner, etc. |
We left for Paris on Valentine's Day of last year. The weather was very good, mostly sunny and about 50F in the day, but cold at night.
I packed layers and was fine; I was much too hot on the Metro, though. I packed some jeans, one pair of black dress pants, a few cashmere blend sweaters, a few long sleeve t's, warmer socks, a cashmere blend cardigan, a vest, and wore a fake sherpa coat from LL Bean. I had a thin and a thick wool pashmina type scarf. I also wore my Merrell boots that look like Uggs, but I have to tell you that no one else was wearing fur lined suede boots. However, they were comfortable and kept my feet warm. |

Another reason for layers is that I found the stores, museums and restaurants to be much warmer than I am used to. I was always taking layers off when inside.
