Paris in early December

I am hoping to put together a one week visit to Paris in the first of December.

Having been there just once before, I looked at the lobby of the Hotel des Deux-Iles and its sister hotel next door, the Hotel de Lutece. I thought they were both charming, on Ile Saint Louis.

Has anyone stayed at either one, and can recommend it? Is there much difference between them? I remember I liked one lobby better than the other, but I can't remember which one! They seem to be a nice location.

P.S. Is the weather awful in early December??

Thanks!

The weather in December is what one would expect in perhaps DC or Virginia. Not as cold as NYC - but quite chilly with some rain and a little snow is possible but extremely unlikely. You will definitely need winter clothing and a sturdy folding umbrella.

But it's Paris - so what do you care?

I did Google the weather in Paris in December. So I expect it to be cold, which is fine. Have been there in the sunshine, and this would be a more leisurely visit to the weather wouldn't bother us.

Good info on the weather as I will be there at the end of the second week of Dcember.

Get up and around early - the days are short. You'll likely have rain, a faint possibility of snow, and yes, chilly, but who cares? There are plenty of cafés for warm drinks and cozy bistros for hearty meals.

Thanks! I will bring layers and rain gear. Now to convince my friend to go!
