paris in december

I will be going to paris for my 70th birthday next month. I have rented an apartment by the Pantheon. I am trying to find 1. restaurants/bars with a fireplace, 2. restaurants with a view (not tour d'argent or the Eiffel Tower) and just fun bistros not too far from my apartment. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Well, rue Mouffetard starts right behind the Pantheon on the left, and it has countless restaurants, many of which are perfectly acceptable.

Have you asked the owner? or is the owner a business, then they would not respond to such requests.

I think le Fumoir, in front of en entrance to Le Louvre has a fireplace. But it is not in my main criteria so you might want to check.

VERY few restaurants have fireplaces. ditto re view. I am not sure what you mean by view, do you mean from up high? Hardly any restaurants are up high.

I think there are a couple decent restaurants at top of rue Mouffetard (north end). Chez Lena et Mmilie is good, but not super cheap. I don't know about fun. I think they used to have a female chanson singer some nights, but I don't see that mentioned.
Chez Léna et Mimile, restaurant au pied du Panthéon, Paris 5 ème.

There is a good Greek restaurant down near Censier metro also. Les Delices d'Aphrodite. You could try Le Perraudin, also

I was passing the local Greek restaurants in review in my memory (haven't eaten on Mouffetard for years) and my mind is seeing not fireplaces, but open fires for roasting meat on spits. That could be a minor consolation, if you have nothing against Greek restaurants.

How about Le Coup Chou

You can google for lists of Paris restaurants with fireplaces. There are quite a number of them. Most are relatively chic and expensive.

For a great view you can always try Le Ciel in the Tour Montparnasse.

That's one of the things we miss most about Brussels-- there are lots of cafes and restaurants there with fireplaces. And they were common in residences too. We lived on the 6th floor (7th American) of a 1960s bldg but had a beautiful wood burning fireplace in our living room.

Some Paris hotels have lobby salons with fireplaces and some of those serve drinks to non-guests. Le Dokhan's in the 16th (near Trocadero) is one.

One of my favorite places in Paris is near the Pantheon - Le Cosi at 9 rue Cujas. No fireplace, but a warm ambience and good food and service at very reasonable prices.
