On changing from the airport. Just shower before you leave for the airport. How often does one really need to bathe? Esp. since you're not doing anything on the plane. You can brush your teeth and wipe/wash your face in the plane's bathroom before landing.

If you bank with Bank of America, withdraw cash at BNP Paribas in France. It's a big bank, they are all over. BNP won't charge you additional fees because both banks are in the Global Alliance Network.

Don't worry about thieves. It will only make you anxious and ruin your pleasure. Put your important stuff in a small purse, over the shoulder, under your coat and let the good times roll.

I'm dying to go for my birthday in late April. La Femme Solo. Travelocity has good last minute packages.

Enjoy!

I did 7 days there in 2005. I was like 'Oh, we'll figure it out' as we go. Wish I had planned ahead. But my traveling companion refused to offer any input on what to do or where to go. She wanted a plan, but she wanted me to decide everything right down to where we ate every day. If it had been a team effort, it would have been so much more enjoyable. Which is why I'm going solo.
