Paris in a day...

Im heading off to paris for valentines day and im looking for a good breakfast place and a nice posh but not overly expensive resteraunt for dinner on the evening.
Also is it possible to see the eiffel tower and other sites along the river and still fit in sacre cour?
Thanks.

You say in a day? Are you talking like from 8 am to 5 pm?

If you have just one day yo can see - however briefly - the Eiffel tower, take a boat ride along the Seine to do a drive-by (float-by?) of Seine sights and then hop the Metro to Sacre Couer for an abbreviated visit. You will miss out on any sort of depth but if one day is all you have...
In terms of dining - breakfast may be offered at your hotel, though the quality and price of hotel breakfast varies widely. Usually you are better off stopping by a local cafe for coffee and croissant. For dinner, choices abound, and you need to be a little more detailed about what you mean by posh and overly expensive. You can do a search here for Paris restaurants and get tons of recommendations, or try a site such as http://www.parisescapes.com/

Yeh it'll be about 8am to 8pm. Wanted a restaurant that was unique to France, and would give us good service on Valentine's Day. I'm not limited to a cheap dinner, but i'm not looking for gourmet french cuisine either.

I wanted to fit in, the Eiffel Tower, Sacré Couer, the Louvre(outside) maybe the Galerie Lafayette and Pompidou Centre aswell...

Is this possible?
Any help on the dining front?

It's possible but you will be quite weary. Use the metro! The walk from Eiffel to the Louvre (along the Seine) is nice, but a bit long. You may want to take the metro.

Take the train from the Louvre to Sacre Couer. Or maybe use buses so you can still see the city.

Wow. Well i did it
My day went like this:
-Musee Louvre.
-'Brunch'.
-Eiffel Tower.
-Musee D'Orsay.
-Notredame.
-Sacre Cour.
-Montmatre.
-Dinner.

The meal we had was beautiful. It was top quality food, in a nice homely resteraunt. The service was amazing. And the table was adorned with a red candle.
It was surrounding the artists square in Montmatre. I'll get back to you on the name.
But the fact of the matter is, it was perfectly easy to fit it all into one day without any stress. And we managed to return to the louvre and see it by night. And also cross a film set on the way :0
