Paris: Ile Seguin
 

I will be in Paris for a short visit which will be during the time Cirque Du Soleil also chose to visit. As they have been one of my favorite live performances for many years, I purchased a solo ticket. A few questions about the area where they will be setting up their tents:

1) Public transportation suggests Odeon metro M10 towards Boulogne - Pont de Saint - Cloud Walk to Michel Angle- Auteuil Take M09 towards Pont de Sevres Exit Pont de Sevres and walk approx. 14 minutes. The show begins at 16:00

a) Is there any transport via the Seine?
b) Should I leave early to explore any stops along the way?
c) Any place nearby to have dinner after the show, stop along the way back, or should I travel back to where I am staying and dine in the neighborhood?

I am looking forward to this experience and hope that I will also be able to add more to my day venturing into an area which is new for me.

1. You don't walk to metro stop Michel Ange, you change there for line 9.

A. You could go part way by Batobus.
B. Since the show starts at 4:00 you will have time in the morning for sightseeing. What you see along the way depends on your interests. There are tons of things to do near the Odeon Metro stop. Cluny Museum, lots of churches, Luxembourg Gardens to name a few. You could walk along the Seine for a while to Invalides and then hop on the metro.
C. Where is the show?

Thank you for the quick response. I have spent lots of time in in this area and plan to visit more, but not on this day.

I will be staying close to Odeon and would like to spend the day exploring between this area and Ile Seguin where the show will be held.

If I was to travel part of the way on Batobus, would it be difficult to connect to the Metro and how would you or others suggest I then spend the day along the way?

I always thought that Billancourt was the metro stop for Ile Séguin, but I'll let you look it up for yourself.

The Batobus is totally useless for getting there.

There are tons of restaurants in Boulogne Billancourt, so no need to worry about going hungry after the show. Boulogne Billancourt is the second largest city of the Paris metropolitan area after Paris.

Pont de Sevres is the closest metro stop by a bit, it's the end of the line so thus closest to the Seine, but Ile Seguin is kind of in the middle of those two stops, just south. It probably doesn't matter that much, either would work.

Since you are staying around Odeon, you can always see stuff around there. If you like architecture, the bottom of the 16th has a lot of excellent Art Nouveau buildings by Guimard (and others, I think) where the Michel-Ange metro stop would be nearby or convenient. that would be something you'd not likely get over to, otherwise. There are various walking tours you can find online or in some specialized guidebooks. Some of the best buildings are between Jasmin metro stop and Exelmans. I think Castel Beranger is one of the best and is up near Radio France, then Guimard's own house was at 122 ave Mozart, just a bit north if Michel-Ange Auteuil. Ave Mozart itself is a good shopping streets.

Thank you Kerouac and Christina, just the kind of information I was hoping to receive. Christina, I looked up more information based on your suggestions and will be roaming the streets looking at the architecture I would otherwise have missed.
