Paris Hotels or B&B's

My husband and I are planning to visit Paris this June for the first time. What district do you recommend that we stay in? Looking for a reasonbably priced(100 euros or less per night with private bath) hotel or B&B in walking distance to sights or close to bus routes.
Thanks
DTE

Quite a few good ones on this list, and buses/metro are easily reached in Paris. For maps and routing go to:

Hi dte,

Check out the Picpus.

It is in the 12th, but near metro and bus stops.

I've stayed at both Residence Les Gobelines and Hotel de la Porte Doree and can recommend both (though I have have mis-spelled them!)

ira
when did you last stay at hotel Picpus? I could not find any reviews for the hotel? Is it in the 12th-opera district?

thank you
