Paris hotels in the 7th

I will be in Paris for 10 days this spring with my husband and daughter, age 11. We are looking for a 2-star hotel with character (not too flowery)in the 7th arrondissment. We were interested in Hotel le Serre on le rue Cler and heard here that it had some problems but started renovations last April. Any info on that or other hotels would be greatly appreciated.

Grand Hotel Leveque on Rue Cler is very nice 2 star. Try the Hotel Champ du Mar just off Rue Cler nice 2 star. Leveque is so popular that it tends to be sold out months in advance and same is true for Champ du Mars. Try them.

I've stayed at Hotel La Motte Picquet on the corner of rue Cler and the avenue of the same name. I will be staying there again this March. While it is not as popular as the other two it is a more than acceptable choice and more likely to have room.

We stayed at Hotel de la Bourdonnais on a recent trip and were very pleased with the rate and size of the room.

We are also going to paris and leaving in 2 weeks! We have a nice 2 star hotel booked...look on Hotel Boulevard (www.hotelboulevard.com I believe). Hotel Boulevard has lots of comments from people who have stayed at the hotel. It is really helpful. We chose the Hotel Alsacia/Kyriad (only put in Alsacia in their search. We chose it because of user comments, location and price. It is also only a 10-15 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower, and close to the metro. I have been told there are laundry near by and bakeries as well as toy stores. The last is big because I am traveling with my kids 13, 8 & 2!

Have fun...it will be my first trip but my husband lived there in his teens so I have a bit of an advatage.

Lori

The Muguet and La Tourville are two more that come to mind in the 7th that are well thought of on this forum.
Whhps. It is to late for me to be thinking. I meant Hotel de Turenne.
It is located at 20, avenue de Tourville. Also the Saint Dominique has been described favorably in earlier posts. I never stayed there, but I have talked to people who have. They liked it.

Hi Pamela! You will find good infos about all hotels at www.paris-touristoffice.com (also in English). Just click on two stars and the area. Some of the hotels have their own website which you can visit. You might also have a great chance in the 6th. There are more small hotels around. Check also www.paris.org./Hotels. Good luck!

I stayed at the St. Dominique last June and enjoyed it. Our room faced Rue St. Dominique and if you looked out the window to the right you had a pretty good view of the Eiffel Tower. It very near lots of shops and not too far from the Invalides metro stop. The rooms were clean and seemed to be recently renovated. The lobby and breakfast room were in nice shape, the stairways needed a bit of cosmetic work. I would definitely stay there again.
