Paris Hotels in September 2010

Hi everyone,

My husband and I will be going to Paris in September 2010. I've done a little bit of research and think I've narrowed down the areas we'd like to stay in. I'm looking at arrondisements 1, 3, 6, or 7. Needless to say, around the central area. I would like to pay no more than $150-$200 per night US dollars.

Could anyone give me some suggestions on a nice hotel in a nice neighborhood for us? I'd prefer an elevator/lift rather than taking the stairs, but it's not a must.

Thanks so much for your advice!

If you do a search here on Paris Hotels, there are two called Paris Hotels Right Bank and Paris Hotels Left Bank. These contain a lot of good information.

Hi rjs,
In Paris, we always stay at the Hotel Bonaparte, 61 Rue Bonaparte in the 6th. From 134E dbl w/bkfst. It is just around the corner from Place St. Sulpice, near 3 metro stops and 4 bus routes. Has AC and an elevator.

The staff speaks English well, and is very helpful. The front desk is staffed 24/7

They can arrange a shuttle pickup to/from CDG for you.

My husband and I have stayed at the Hotel Louvre Forum. Here's a link: http://www.paris-hotel-louvre-forum.com/

It was a great find, and we came upon it through Fodor's. We had a nice room with a w/c and shower. It was a perfect location -- five minutes from the Les Halles Metro stop, 10 minutes from the Louvre, walkable to just about anywhere. We enjoyed it so much. For about 11 Euro extra, you can get breakfast at the hotel, too, which we did sometimes.

There's an elevator in this hotel, and most of the staff spoke English.

We thought the location was great.

I have two hotel threads. Type in the SEARCH box, Paris Hotels Left Bank Thread. It's also linked to the Right Bank Thread. Happy Travels!

Last May we stayed at Villa Madame, 44 Rue Madame in the 6th near Luxembourg Gardens. It was modern, clean and very comfortable with an excellent breakfast. They may have rooms in your price range.

When we went they had only recently reopened after an extensive rennovation so there were not many tripadvisor reviews, however it now seems to be getting very favorable ratings. I wouldn't hesitate to return. http://www.villa-madame.com

We like the 7th and have a few hotels to recommend; Londres Eiffel, Relais Bosquet (a family favorite since 1998), Muguet, and the Valadon. We haven't yet stayed at the Valadon but have met one of the owners and are considering it for our next visit. We love this area because it fairly quiet in the evening, has great little restaurants and is good for strolling. I suggest reserving a place with air conditioning. We have encountered warm weather in Paris on a couple of September trips.

September is a fabulous month to be in Paris. Hotel-wise, however, it is the start of many trade shows and conventions, so space does fill up quickly, and trying to get reductions at hotels are also difficult. Book quickly, and you will be fine.
