Paris hotels in 4th,5th or 6th.
Before I get "do the research" bit, I am looking for a 100-130E/night recommendation for a couple in their 40's who want a decent place to stay but don't intend to do too much more than sleep there. Prefer to spend money on good food, not hotel- although would like better than Days Inn equivalent. Intend to go in mid to late February. Can you help? Thanks

I have stayed in the Hotel Ferrandi (rue cherche midi) 2 times this past year.... 6th arrid....great location...hotel might be a little on your high end... nice staff...

Check out Hotel des Grandes Ecoles in the 5th. Highly recommended by me a lot of other Fodor's posters.
Check out its website:
http://www.hotel-grandes-ecoles.com
email: [email protected]

I recommend Hotel de la Bretonnerie in the Marais. I love the area and I loved the hotel.

Try Hotel Monge in the 5th. Approximately 95 euros per night for summer rate. February might be even better.

www.hotelmonge.com

I just reserved there myself after checking out numerous great recommendations on this board. You could also do a text search for "paris hotels" and come up with great info.

Good luck.
Grand Hotel des Balcons is great, if you do a search you will see many positive comments. We paid 110 euros in Sept. Private bath, and they have an elevator. Don't know if it would be cheaper in Feb. Great location a couple of blocks north of Luxembourg Gardens in the 6th and a couple of blocks south of the Odeon Metro. Very helpful clerks at the desk.

Thanks for the input, I appreciate the help.

Hi
Also look into the Hotel Bonaparte in the 6th.

I have stayed several times at Hotel St. Paul de Marais; it's right by the St Paul Metro stop in the 4th and should be in your price range. Here is a link to its website. http://www.hotel-paris-marais.com/gb/menu.html
