Paris Hotels
Will be in Paris in January, and would like to stay in the Latin Quarter. Any suggestions on an inexpensive (for Paris) hotel?

Hi Dave - What do you call 'inexpensive'?
My last hotel in the Latin Quarter was the Hotel Clement(3 star), rue Clement @ 117euros for a single room en-suite. Recomended by another post was Hotel Saint Pierre, 4 rue de l'Ecole de Medecine( 2 star) and a single en-suite is about 76 but only 65 with shower but no toilet, double 84euros en-suite or 69euros (no loo). You can also try the Hotel Perryve, 63 rue Madame in the Luxembourg Quarter. (Not sure of the rates.) |
We have stayed at the Hotel-Grandes-Ecoles and enjoyed it. It is centrally located in the Latin Quarter and inside a courtyard, so there is very little street noise. It is priced quite well. We will be there again at the end of June.

We've stayed several times at Hotel St. Jacque and love it - its a few blocks down the street from the Pantheon (you can get rooms with a view of it), far enough away from the river that you don't have hordes of tourists around ALL the time, but close enough that you can walk there in 5 minutes. PLUS, our favourite wine bar in all of Paris is next door (La Petite Perigourdine).
