Paris hotels
 

Any reasonable hotels in Paris fro three days. Thought about the courtyard marriott but it is at the airport which i think may be too far away. Any ideas?

What takes you to Paris? If it's sightseeing, you will certainly want to be in a central location, not way out at the airport. Let us know your price range.

It is really too far out of town, but it is a wonderful hotel.

Is 200 dollars acceptable?

We always stay at Hotel des Jardins du Luxembourg in the Latin Quarter (not to be confused with Hotel Luxembourg). Great little hotel, convenient to walk everywhere, easy access to trains. I think they are approx. $135 Euros per night.

$200 will get you nice lodgings. But when are you going? I ask because if it's in the summer you would need a/c, and that has an effect on which hotels to recommend.

Hotel Muguet. about 100E/night, squeaky clean, quiet location on a side street, in the midst of many good restaurants, near the Eiffel Tower, served by 2 Metro stops and 5 bus lines.

paris is v conveniently served by the metro.
get the carnet..more econimical. no need to purchase the paris viste pass

My wife and I have stayed at:
1) Hotel Pas de Calais
2) Hotel Le Sainte Beuve
Both are in 6th and very nice- near Metro, quiet side street, near nice restaurants. Check out- your price range and have web site.

I love Hotel Muguet in the 7th.

I've heard good things about the Saint-Beuve; another is Le Regent.

I?ll be in Paris for 3 nights next week (Valentine?s weekend). I booked a room for the Royal Hotel in the 8th district. Last time I was in Paris I stayed in the Nation Bercy area. Big mistake. The nicest thing I could have said about that hotel was that it was located in a seemingly Parisian area. I elected for a room in a downtown area this time. One factor that I took into consideration from my last experience was that my girlfriend and I had to rush to the metro before they shut down for the night. We really did avoid taking taxis as we were used to the public transpo. back home in Chicago and New York. That factor did restrict us to a curfew that really curbed us from experiencing the nightlife in Paris. So plan on staying within 15 minutes of where you would most likely spend your night excursions. Forget about the day trips to places like museums and stuff because they close early any way. Those places could be reserved for the mornings when you can allow for the longer travel times.
