Paris Hotel with Bar near Bistros?
 

I'm planning to be in Paris for a couple of nights in June. As I'm a woman travelling by myself, I'd like to stay at a nice hotel which also has a bar open late and has nice bistros or brasseries nearby - though I'm happy to take cabs if needed. I've been to Paris several times before so not really planning to do many touristy things, perhaps some shopping or a gallery or two. If I could find a hotel for around Euro 200 to 250, that would be perfect. Could anyone recommend hotels as well as bistros?

I haven't stayed at Hotel d' Aubusson in the 6th, but it's gotten good press (CN Traveller-UK edition) and nice reviews. It's got a well-regarded bar, Cafe Laurent, that offers weeknight jazz sessions. Their rooms are supposedly quite spacious for Paris. As for location, the hotel is in the heart of busy, beautiful St. Germain des Pres. You'll have no trouble finding many nice restaurants for all budgets.

One place that I liked alot is Chez Fernand on the rue Guisardelocated sort of like on a restaurant row. I liked the simple, homey ambience, the waitstaff, and the food at Chez Fernand. You can check that place and others at http://www.bestrestaurantsparis.com/...p?id_resto=439

I need to say that Hotel d' Aubusson is more than your budget by at least 30 euro. So if you can increase it to 280 euro their (standard) rooms start at that rate.

You might try the Hotel Lenox on rue d l'universite. The Lenox Club bar is comfortable, the area wonderful and it has great shopping all around.

I also would recommend Chez Fernand, though we go to the one on rue Christine and are always warmly welcomed and well fed!

Try the Hôtel Le Madison, on the Bd St-Germain, opposite the church. There's a small bar, primarily for residents, and any number of good places to eat nearby. For something special, dine at Au Petit Marguery, in the 13th--you'll need a taxi. Wonderful food, very pleasant and friendly service.

Lenox is a nice hotel but more towards the quiet part of St. Germain. There are not as many restaurants and bistros nearby.

There are 2 Hotel Lenox..the one I was speaking of is just a block beyond rue JAco and rue des saints peres. Right off the top of my head I can think of at least 12 bistros/restaurants within 2 blocks of it.
