Paris hotel with a group
I am taking a group of graduate students to Paris for a week in March. Any suggestions for a hotel that can accomodate 30 people (15 rooms) for around 120 euros per night?

Should we be more specific and say 15 -twin- rooms for 120€..?
Would it be acceptable if the group is split up into 2-3 hotels near to each other? Does the 120€ need to be inclusive of breakfast? (most hotels price breakfast separately). |
My hotel list includes two hotels very close to one another, both in your price range. Between the two, you may be able to put together enough rooms. They are both in the 6th around the Place de l'Odeon...excellent, central location. They're about a block apart.
One is Hotel Delavigne. Someone on these threads stayed there recently (was it elaine?) and highly recommends it. Do a search on "Paris and Delavigne". http://www.delavigne-paris-hotel.com/index.html The other is Hotel Michelet Odeon, right next to the Odeon theater. http://www.delavigne-paris-hotel.com/index.html I haven't stayed at either, but I know the area and love it. A little farther away---about 5 blocks---is Hotel Bonaparte. I have stayed there and it would suit your needs very well. I don't know how many twins they have, though. It's next to St. Sulpice church, also a great location. About 125 euros. No website. Tel 33 1 43 26 97 37 FAX 33 1 46 33 57 67 |
You are probably going to be limited to hotels that will accept tour group bookings. Even if a hotel can hold 30 people (and most can), I don't think most are going to take your booking, especially given it's a large group of young people (I presume). Maybe you inteded to prepay the entire stay, though.

There are many IBIS hotels all over Paris, and I think a lot of them are larger (ie. more rooms) than many independent hotels. Their rates are very inexpensive, and there should be no shortage of twin-style rooms.
www.accor.com (choose the IBIS icon). |
I think that's an excellent idea, Travelnut. They should have the rooms, do accept tour groups, and are about the right price. There are a couple central ones that might be fine for that group -- one the Ibis Cambronne in the 15th (not too terribly far from Eiffel Tower), and the Ibis near Bastille.

:) I hope it works out!
