I have done extensive research on these hotels, but have come up with limited reviews. Have you stayed at any of these. Recommendations?<BR><BR>Hotel Monge<BR>Hotel Langlois (des Croises)<BR>Hotel Michelet Odeon<BR>Grand Hotel des Balcons<BR><BR>Thanks,<BR>+B+

Grand Hotel des Balcons has been discussed on Fodors often.<BR><BR>We stayed there just after in was listed in a National Geographic Traveler article. The prices have gone up since (because?) and I'm not sure I think it's worth the current price. The location is great, though.<BR>

What reviews are you looking for? Do you mean on Fodors or other places? Because if you mean here, I know Monge and Michelet Odeon won't have tons, but a few. However, the Balcons has scads of threads and comments on here, probably dozens. Have you searched under France with the word balcons?

I have been searching here, hence those suggestions.<BR><BR>I think I'll eliminate des Balcons. The feedback seems generally negative. <BR><BR>Michelet Odeon seems to be a strong front-runner.<BR><BR>Thanks so far.

Recommend Hotel Monge. I stayed there this past July. Picked it due to Air conditioning. I stayed in single which had a nice double bed, good bathroom. Room was small but very clean and comfortable. I overlooked the street but they have back rooms overlooking the garden. I did not find street noise a problem. I really liked the easy metro access (convenient to 3 stops) and quick walk to rue Mouffetard.<BR>Room has minibar and safe. I am returning for second stay thee in two weeks. 90 euros for double garden room, large bed and tub rather than shower (my preference).<BR><BR>Happy travels,<BR>gg

Did you feel/hear the Metro rumbled underneath? I am a bit of a light sleeper and that's what concerned me about the Monge.

I've stayed at the Monge. It's plain but nice.<BR><BR>We had a room overlooking the Arenes and never heard a thing. I had no idea the metro ran beneath the building.

Buscuit, I never heard/felt the metro rumble. In fact I did not realize it was THAT close. Even with a street room I did not have problems. I have had problems with street noise in other hotels but not there. By the way, it turned out very cool and rainy so I never had to use the A/C..still no noise problem that I recall.
