Paris Hotel on Priceline
Hi Guys - I'm trying to use Priceline for Paris (which I know is difficult). I'd like a hotel in the latin q, st. germ or louvre/marais/south champs areas, but am having a lot of trouble. Anyone gotten lucky with a central paris hotel on priceline lately? How much and which hotel?
Thanks,
Jeff

Be careful about a sofitel hotel that most people consider to be far from central but which the priceline zoning paramters includes for the eiffel tower area, i think. Search for a thread that begins, "I'm an idiot" in the last few weeks -- someone who was really regretting her priceline strategy for Paris. Just avoid whatever zone she was in -- or drop your price considerably for this zone and it might be worth the slightly longer metro ride.

I think Hotwire might be better for Paris. It has more zones and you can narrow it down more.
But definitely skip the zone called something like Eiffel Tower - Grenelle - Montparnasse, as it actually includes the infamous Sofitel Porte de Sevres which isn't actually in Paris itself.
I suggest looking at BetterBidding.com and thoroughly reading the reviews.
I was happy with my 4* bid two years ago in Latin Quarter - St. Germain - Montparnasse, which resulted in the Le Meridien Montparnasse.
