Paris Hotel-modern, convenient
Hi everyone!
I just found out I'll be in Paris alone for 3 nights, Nov 17-19. I'd prefer a hotel with the following: -VERY close to a metro stop -fairly central...an inner arrondisment preferred -modern facilities preferred over old-fashioned charm -close to cafes, grocery etc -TV with international cable -120 euros or less per night -ideally with a fridge, but not required -ideally with internet access at the hotel, but not required Thanks so much for any advice you can give... www.parisby.com
is a good website for getting a 'short list' up for hotel choices. Use the districts choices for 'central' locations (1-8) Click on a hotel - use the 'accomodations' tab to see if there is a minibar or internet (sometimes they only mean a connection in the room is possible). Use the 'booking' tab to check the price. Use the 'gallery' to see the decor/style. Then check here and Tripadvisor for any adverse feedback... |
This trip you're solo? Then, the Hotel Relais du Louvre (I stayed there solo in November, 2003) meets all of your needs and is less than your budget. The room isn't HUGE mind you...but I enjoyed it. The Hotel is in the first, and I found it through "reservethebest.com".

The Abbatial St. Germain is in the 100-120 euro a night range, is about a block or so from the Maubert-Mutualite metro station in the heart of the Latin Quarter, left bank but very central. The rooms are small but modern and well-equipped.

I have stayed at the Abbatial St. Germain. The rooms are pretty small and the walls are thin. But the location is very good as the Seine is about a block and a half away. The staff is pretty friendly too.
