Paris Hotel in February

Hello! We will be in Paris for the first time for 3 nights in February. Trying to stay somewhat budgeted, would like a hotel close to the Metro and some sites/restaurants as we know it will be cold. I have been looking at Hotel du Champ de Mars, Hotel College de France, Hotel Saint Jacques-- anyone have any pros/cons/thoughts?
thanks!

what is your budget..."somewhat" doesn't help. Also, look at www.tripadvisor.com for some reviews of the hotels that you are considering.

Hotel du Champ de Mars is a perrenial favorite on this Website and on Trip Advisor. I stayed there once in 2003 and was very pleased. I had a small but very comfortable single room; it was spotless and well decorated with a classy marble bathroom. It's in a nice neighborhood in the 7th, a good walking area and convenient to the Metro. I don't know the other hotels you mention, but the Champ de Mars is a good bet.

Thanks!
Sandi- would like to keep to about $100 US, willing to go up to about $125 if it's worth it. I have checked Trip Advisor, just wondering if anyone had any experiences with these hotels, how close they really are to the Metro etc.
Thanks!

Hi, you can find this out yourself (you'll see the planning possibilities!)...

Go to www.pagesjaunes.com

enter your hotel's street address and 'zip' code (localitie, ie. 75007) and press the orange "rechercher" button.

then click on "plan" to see a map. it will show a blueMcircle for the metro.. if need be, zoom to until you see one. the number of meters is indicated at the bottom of the map.

FYI:
1600 meters = 1 mile
300 meters = about 2-3 blocks
