Paris - Hotel Choices
Have narrowed it down as follows:
Hotel Britannique Castex Hotel Hotel du Lys Hotel Muguet Hotel Bonaparte - need to check availability I'd love to hear from anyone who has stayed at any of these places. Thanks! |
You can find recent comments by using the search feature for the Bonaparte and Muguet... and the du Lys was recommended by 'grandmere', I think, but she hasn't posted lately about it.
The other two haven't been mentioned much lately - it seems the 6th is the most favored arr. on this board (not by everyone, but a clear majority). Check on Tripadvisor.com while you're waiting - comments on all of them over there. |
I have stayed at the Castex twice and would highly recommend it. Very helpful staff almost new rooms, very modern heat and ac. Check Rick STeves's book for possible special offer. I like the location. It is also on a quiet street but very close to lots of transportation options.

All of these hotels have been commented on alot (maybe almost every week?) here. You should do a search.
Also do check for recent comments at Tripadvisor.com. |
We stayed at the du Lys in April. For convenience, price, safety and quiet, we were very pleased. The drawbacks were a somewhat worn bedspread and an unvented, although new, bathroom.
There's no AC but we didn't need it in April. |
And jpf forgot to mention that the du Lys has no elevator. If you have mobility problems that will be one factor in your decision to stay here.

Hi harrow,
Unsurprisingly, I think that the Bonaparte is the best of your set. ((I)) |
Thanks everyone!

Francophile, thanks for adding the 'no elevator' information. I should have also included the du Lys was 130€ for a triple which included breakfast of juice, coffee, baguette, croissant, and jam.
