paris hotel ?????
 

Message: Hi,
Planning our first trip to Paris in early May 2005. Here are our hotel choices...
1. Verneuil
2. St Thomas D'aquin
3. Tourville
4. Hotel Therese

We are looking for a smaller, romantic, QUIET hotel. We are not worried about the size of the rooms(we are prepared for very small), but do want it to be QUIET, VERY CLEAN, and charming.

We think we are leaning towards first two, as the location is more central (?)...but are still not sure.
Anyone stayed at any of these recently? Comments?

I know I have read very favorable comments on 1, 2 and 3... haven't noticed anything being posted in a long while about Tourville... Someone just recently posted, raving about St T d'Aquin, try a quick search on that one. I think last year, someone compared Verneuil to Relais Bosquet- you might find a post on that, too.

For 'street' quiet, I'd try to choose based on the hotel being located on a smaller (one lane) side street, rather than a busy avenue. But you have to have stayed in the hotel to comment on 'inside' quiet, ie. thin walls, noisy elevators, etc...

I cannot COUNT. I meant, comments on 1, 2 and 4.

St. Thomas D'Aquin is charming and in a wonderful location. You are right, the rooms are small but it is very nice and good value. We have looked at the Verneuil, which looks lovely and I have heard good things about it. These two hotels are in my favorite neighborhood and they should be quiet.

We stayed at the Verneiul last May. The rooms are small but charming and the street is fairly quiet. It was very clean and well maintained.
The only problem we had with the hotel was their failure to provide a room with air conditioning despite the fact that we reserved months in advance and were assured that the rooms had AC. Our adult daughters were given a twin room on the top floor that was very stuffy and wasn't air conditioned.
We took a copy of the e-mail in which they promised air conditioned rooms to the front desk. The desk clerk just shrugged and said there were no other rooms and she did send a fan up to the room.
That said, it cooled a bit the next day and we had a very nice stay there.
