Paris hotel - 3 star
 

Need recommendation for a 3 star in Paris for 3 nights in July near the Tuilleries Garden. Anyone familiar with Hotel Brebant?

What about the Relais du Louvre? I stayed there several years ago. It is next door to St. Germain L'Aurroix (sorry for the spelling) and the Louvre.

Gail, I am staying at the Hotel Brighton (3 star hotel) across the street from the Tuilleries Gardens. You might try them.

Anyone familiar with Hotel des Tuileries? I inquired directly and was told they were full and now Escapades think they have a room there and I must make a decision today. Please any feedback would be helpful. I want a hotel in that area near the gardens.

Gail: I believe you will have troubles finding comments on the Hotel des Tuileries here. Can't remember having read anything lately. Most fodorites seem to be left bank lovers (except for the Marais in the 4th arr.).<BR>Anyway, I found its web page and it does look like a charming little 3-star hotel on a quiet street. I would go for it, if you have decided to stay close to the Tuileries Gardens and if the price is right for you. However, the metro stop is not that convenient. Just read quite a few comments from travelers who had stayed at Hotel des Tuileries and most were not very complimentary. So, rather than have a husband who is miserable over our room I think I will go for a 4 star - anyone know about Lotti Hotel - our friends are staying there this weekend but I need to make reservations today.

re Hotel des Tuileries, I had booked this hotel for fall 99, changed at the last minute, went to see it anyway. It is on a quiet side street in the 1st. Beautifully decorated, rooms and bathrooms extremely small, hallways so narrow that two people can’t pass each other. The day I was there the one tiny elevator was out of order; I don’t know if that was a rare occurrence or not. For the price, which was relatively high for a small hotel, I was glad to stay elsewhere. However, it is highly recommended in the books Cheap Sleeps in Paris, Fodor’s Paris, and elsewhere. The Lotti is great. Ask for a room on the street; they are very roomy and not noisy at all. Our favorite is Hotel Cambon. a 4* just off rue de Rivoli. Privately owned, quiet, with a friendly and helpful staff. You can book on-line.

Few more questions since I must make a decision today about a hotel. Any feedback on Hotel Regents Garden or Hotel duLouvre. Gardening is my passion (next to my husband) so always love to stay in hotel that is beauifully landscapped with a little patio to sit out on.
