Paris Hotel
 

My husband and I will be visiting Paris for 1st time in Oct. We're trying to decide among these hotels for our stay: Artus, Eber-Monceau, Hotel de L'Abbaye, Hotel Relais Christine, Hotel buci de Latin and Relais de Saint Sulpice. Has anyone stayed at any of these and if so do you have any advice about type of room to book and convenience of location, etc.? Thanks very much.

I think you can probably dig up past comments on Relais Christine and Buci de Latin. Wasn't Artus called something else until recently?...I haven't stayed in any so no help other than suggesting you try the search (if you haven't already done so).

The Hotel Artus is the Hotel Buci Latin, isn't it? These aren't two diff. hotels, check the addresses of whatever you are looking at, Nancy. <BR><BR>Sorry, I haven't stayed at either but from what I've read I know I would probably choose the Relais St Sulpice for value, style and location. Then, maybe the Abbaye. I have never heard of the Eber-Monceau, though, and the Relais Christine is too expensive for my personal consideration. I don't like the Buci Latin (Artus) location, it's on a very narrow noisy street with a lot of traffic (people) nearby and is too touristy an area for me, but I know many people like that location. I just don't like noisy crowded locations for hotels, that's a personal quirk.<BR><BR>So I can't give you personal advice on rooms, but I do know all of those are close together and convenient locations, they aren't that different (except for my personal reaction to the Buci). I looked up the Eber and its an entirely diff. area, the 17th near the Courcelle metro. That isn't a bad area near Parc Monceau for those who know Paris, although not that exciting to me--but I would throw that one out of c consideration for a newcomer, especially in comparison to the others in St-Germain. I just don't think you'd like staying over there so much, it's farther away from the things you'll want to see and do.

Dear Nancy;<BR> I 2nd the vote for the Relais St. Sulpice it's a gret value in that aea ; and the rooms while not large are comfotable and nicely decorated. You can read a review on this site. <BR>I thoughr the Relais Christine was really over priced; and I have heard nothing but good things about the L' Abbaye; but it's alot more expensive then the Relais St. Sulpice. I can only speak for D'Aubusson, which is good. BUT, the friend of mine who recommended D'Aubusson to me stayed at the Buci Latin, which is called something else now, on their return trip to Paris and loved it even more than D'Aubusson. I walked past it and didn't like the hordes of people on the street right outside the door but it is right smack in the middle of everything.

Just looked up Buci Latin and Christina is right - Hotel Artus - and the price is right - breakfast is included. My friend is VERY fussy and if it met her requirements it must be OK.
