Paris hotel
 

Looking for hotel in 5th or 6th, possibly 7th. 10 minute walk to River. Under 150 euros, 200 max. Need twin beds. Especially want a mini fridge. Coffee maker would be a plus or coffee available in am. Looks like Hotel Bonaparte has mini fridge, any other suggestions? Citadines St Germain is an option but don't need kitchen. Does minibar mean mini fridge? Thanks.

When are you staying? A hotel recommendation meeting your need during the off season days will not help you if you are going during the peak season.

Most hotels in Paris do not have coffee set-ups in the rooms. Many will offer breakfast in the breakfast room, but there is a charge for this.
If you really need coffee in your room, bring a small immersion heater (you might need a plug adapter), a small filter and your favorite coffee. They don't take up much room at all.
Suggest looking on www.booking.com for hotels that suit your budget and specific neighborhood.

Hotel des grands hmmes in front of Panthéon. Great staty.
Relais Medicis n ront of gardens of Luxembourg - superb, more exp than your budget but with a discount mightwork.
Hotel de Suède,7e, very quiet neighbourhood.

Another recommendation for Best Western Quartier Latin - beautiful old buildings make up this hotel - nothing like I thought a Best Western would look like. No coffee maker - I've not seen one in any European hotel .breakfast room in This hotel.

You could look at Hotel de Fleurie in the 6th. Their double rooms have a minibar and king or twin beds. Great locations but it has been several years since I stayed there. Would be on the higher end of your budget, I think. They have a breakfast room so coffee would be available there. There are tons of cafes and a Starbucks in the area, so you will have plenty of options for your morning Joe.

Best Western hotels in Paris are just like independent hotels, pretty much, they are all small, old hotels, they just belong to that marketing consortium. So prefering chains isn't going to mean anything with Best Westerns (except maybe reserving by phone and if you get points for doing that). If one wants a large, modern chain hotel, it would be better to go with a Marriott or Hyatt or Hilton (or French brand like Novotel or Meridien or Pullman).

I have never had a hotel with a coffeemaker in Paris but I was going to guess those larger chain hotels might be the ones to have that. All hotels will have coffee available unless they are 1* or something (and they even might) becauase it's a requirement of the star ratings that you are able to serve breakfast. It may not be a separate room, but you have to serve it, such as delivering to room. A 3* hotel or higher has to have a breakfast room, a 2* hotel has to be able to deliver it to your room.

Actually, I just remembered the hotel I've been staying at about 10 years regularly in Paris just added hot pots to their rooms. They didn't used to have anything. I did bring my own one-cup filter holder for drip coffee (Melitta) and made my own, and brought some of those K-cups like you have for Keurigs, made it easy to transport, then a few paper filters. It's in Montparnasse, though, not close to the river.

I just checked and the Pullman Montparnasse does have coffeemaking facilities, which is what I thought.

Do note the advice that time of year matters. Room rates vary depending on season. I sometimes go around mid=July and many hotels lower their rates from 7/14-8/31, for example, 10-25 pct. But 150 euro isn't going to get you much during peak periods, but a 2-3* hotel now, the 6th arr. is very very expensive.

You could look at the Parc St Severin, it belongs to the same hotel group as the one I stay at, and is a great location near the Seine. Its classic rooms are in that price range, even with breakfast included, and they also have a minibar and provide coffee making facilities (sounds like what I had--a hot pto and some tea/coffee bags).

Park st Severin looks nice, definitely on the list. Have to check out the other recommendations.

Hotel Pas de Calais might work. We liked it a lot. Easy walk to the river.
