Paris hotel - Hotel London Opera
Hi,
I wonder if anyone has stayed at the Hotel London Opera in the Opera area (Boulevard des Italien)? How was your experience there? Was that a safe area? We will be in Paris in June. Which other hotel would you recommend in that area?
Thanks.

I stayed in the area at Le Grand Hotel Intercontinental on my first trip to Paris many years ago. It was perfectly safe than as it is now, although a bit "touristy" because of all the hotels in the area.
Someone recently posted asking about another hotel there-I'm sorry I can't remember the name other than, like yours, it was a British name-like the Westminster Opera or something like that. (maybe it was yours? Have you done a text search here for previous comments?) Several people gave that hotel good reviews. Have you checked on tripadvisor.com?

It was the Westminster Warwick. Here's the thread.

My sister & I had reservations for there 2 years ago. She had stayed there many years ago, and had liked it then, but I guess that things had changed. When we got there, it was apparent that they had a major water pipe problem, although they didn't say anything about it. We looked at a few rooms, and they were not appealing, and not at all what we had seen on the internet. When we went back to the lobby, we noticed that the house maid who had been mopping the floor, proceeded to use the mop on the ceiling! Maybe they've improved since then, but I think that you can do better. We ended up staying someplace else that we reserved at the Tourist Bureau. Unfortunately, we had to pay a lot more money, because every place nearby in that price category was already booked, but I walked away happy that we had escaped what could've been a disaster of a hotel stay.

How much is your budget? I can't find information on Hotel London Opera.
The other recommendations for Hotel Westminster and Le Grand Intercontinental are great. They look very nice but these are deluxe hotels costing at least 300-400 euros/night.
