Paris Holiday Inn Republique

I would appreciate any feedback in the Holiday Inn Republique in Paris. Family of 4, 2 kids. Need quick/easy access to Metro, sites, restaraunts, etc. Thanks in advance.

In my many trips to Paris, I only have stayed in American owned hotels when business necessitated it. They totally lack any French charm and are at best a bad compromise between what is French and what is American. If your choice of Holiday Inn is based on the points you list, then please understand that the Metro is close to practically every hotel and every site in Paris. Restaurants are everywhere. The sites are all over Paris.
What I suggest is that you base yourself in the general area of the Seine. For charm choose the 5th or 6th arrondissements, but any of the 1st - 8th put you in the more famous areas. Usually my choice of a hotel is the Hotel Muguet over in the 7th.
Do you have a map that shows the placement of the arrondissements and a Metro map? Those are all you really need to assure yourself of a good location and the presence of a Metro stop. In any of the areas I've mentioned you'll be near a Metro guaranteed.

Thanks. Also concerned about finding a room that accomodates 4 people in one room, kids are young.

Here are lots of differents comments by various people:
Holiday Inn Republique-
fine, modern, comfortable
no charm
Not a very "Francais" hotel
lacking in charm
satisfactory although
a big, comfortable hotel
Not "French" in atmosphere or
not located in an interesting area
staff was friendly and spoke English.
The rooms were nice
a pretty good deal assuming you get a good rate.
For more go to www.anamericaninparis.com
[email protected]
