Paris Help $$$$$
ok - i need some suggestions on hotel, rest, shops etc...
hotel costes or hotel ritz??? what are some new hotspots for restaurants, shops, etc.. |
Did you do a search first?
Do you have any preferences? Have you been there before? |
I have done searches and still dont know where to stay
never been, want a good location, shops, restaurants, money not an object |
Do you have a map of Paris? Any idea what part of the city you wish to stay in?
Simply looking for an expensive hotel near shops and restaurants in all of Paris... doesn't narrow it down much. |
If you are looking at this catagory of hotel, I would make the choice between the Ritz and the Crillon.
Personally, I would go with the Crillon. Newest hotspots will have to come from those who have been this year.. If you just browse through the threads and read all the Paris threads on shopping and eating , you can get a lot of ideas. We prefer the Left Bank. Smaller more intimate hotels. We go to some larger more famously expensive restaurants, but prefer to discover new favorites of our own. A small sample: Les Bookninistes, Brasserie Lipp, Cafe Deux Magot, Polidor, L'Epi Dupin, allard, La Tour d'Argent, Le Grand Vefour. Shopping is easy, just walk down any street in Paris. Famous shopping can be done on the Blvd St Germain, rue Faubourg St-Honore,(Hermes) Place des Victoires, the Palais- Royal, Galleries Lafayette..the Marais. I hope this helps and gets you started :) |
Pardon me, but from experience I've learned that usually when people here say "money is not an object" we later find out that it IS. How much are you willing to pay a night -- $500, $1000, $5000?
Is your goal to live in total luxury and splendor, or are you just looking for a really fine hotel with good restaurant and efficient room service? Do you want a palatial suite, or just a nice room? By shopping are you talking about the finest designer clothing shops? |
And I've also learned that the large majority of posters here have never really STAYED at the most expensive hotels.
The post is entirely "too generic" and perhaps we should have "referred" the poster to the infamous Paris "superthread" which would keep her busy for decades! |
