Really looking forward to my first Fodorite GTG. Drinks at 5:00 and then if anyone wants to stay on for dinner that would work for me.

Traviata, you are familiar with Boullion Racine - is it likely we would be seated upstairs? In which case, those attending would need to be aware to look both places for our group.

Pariswat, by all means, come at 6:00.

Kerouac, get over yourself. Socialworker, thank you for clarifying my point.

Whoopee - Happy Hour! Can't wait.

Yes, you might be seated upstairs if you stay to eat....I am not sure when they open that room as we have always sat downstairs........the bar is as soon as you walk in, so no problem being seen there...

I'd love to go, but I'll be on a plane back from a week in Venice.

I have made a reservation for six at 17:00 hrs. It is under my name - Cooper - and Fodor's. I will enjoy the drinks and likely stay for dinner. Hopefully, others can join us. See you Wednesday, October 21 at Bouillon Racine.

Hi! I know I'm late to the party but if there is still time please include me in the guest list for cocktails. I arrive in Paris on that very day 21 Oct and if I'm still awake after a cocktail or two will probably also want to have supper.

Looking forward to meeting fellow travelers. See you Wednesday, October 21 at Bouillon Racine.

Pat.

Looks like we're all set! Thanks for making a reservation. I will plan to stay on for dinner also if I haven't been over served.

Presently in Paris. The weather is cool and cloudy - but there is warmth everywhere. I look forward to meeting everyone on Wednesday afternoon and eve. If there are any people with last minute opportunities to join us, I am sure you will be welcomed. Bouillon Racine at 17:00 hrs or later if that works better for you.

Well

Teacher was supposed to make a report, since he was very active in organizing the meeting.

So, I'll spill the beans then.
We met (I arrive late (complete with helmet) so cannot tell much about the first part) and stayed for dinner for 5 of us, after some left after taking an 'apéritif' I guess.

I spent a lovely dinner, the food was ok, (didn't like the dessert), the place is really beautiful - Art Déco we would say, combination of glass, steel (iron), of end 19th, start of 20th century.

Conversation was very agreable. Looking forward to other as nice GTG's.

Service was above ok, wanted to leave a tip because they were quite helpful, forgot and following my habits, didn't..

(And I have now a canadian pin on my jacket...).

Thanks again to those who organized and those who came !

Will add my two cents worth: all who attended were exceedingly charming and the venue was beautiful. Anyone who was not there, really missed out.

I wish Fodor's had an edit function. I should have mentioned the gifts distributed by teacherCanada! A very special touch, indeed.

DH and I were so glad to be there, even though we could not stay for dinner. It was great to meet all of you and we are already looking forward to the next one.

Thanks to all who helped make this happen......the only thing better than reading Fodor's is meeting Fodor's in person!!
