Paris GTG - October 21

Alone in Paris postings have indicated interest in a Paris GTG for October 21. There are several of us Fodorites planning on attending so far. Please sign on here if you are interested for drinks or a light supper that (early?) evening. Cafe suggestions welcome!

cynthia_booker Sep 19th, 2015 05:47 PM

Yes, Travelchat, thanks very much. I am looking forward to seeing everyone.
I will be staying in the Sixth.

I'm in Paris every week, and will do my best to come !

The Green Linnet, isn't that where our friend Bruce McAleer, a/k/a French Mystique Tours, works some evenings? That would be a treat.

A couple of years ago, we had a GTG at Bouillon Racine. The bar area is lovely and it was quiet enough to chat...fairly central and close to Metro...

travelchat Sep 20th, 2015 07:11 AM

I'm with Traviata - Bouillon Racine would be my choice.

teacherCanada Sep 25th, 2015 06:23 PM

I am game for either location. Looking forward to meeting each and everyone who is able to attend.

Just topping this thread to ensure others who might be interested in joining us are aware we are meeting in the late afternoon or evening of Wednesday, October 21. It looks like our destination is not yet determined, but we will be meeting somewhere.

Still hoping to see you there.....!

pariswat Oct 8th, 2015 01:04 PM

I'll be there.
don't forget to say where and when.

travelchat Oct 8th, 2015 03:32 PM

I'd love to meet at Boullion Racine - 5:00 pm, Wednesday, 10/21 if that works for all interested. Reservation needed once we know how many? Or, not necessary for drinks and perhaps dinner TBD? Advise please, those of you who have been to a Fodorite GTG.

Thanks travelchat for taking the bull by the horns and making a decision about time and place. By my review, I think at this time there are six of us - travelchat, cynthia_booker, Traviata and DH, Pariswat and myself (teacherCanada).

teacherCanada Oct 10th, 2015 08:43 AM

We would certainly welcome others who are in Paris on Wednesday, October 21 to join us.

pariswat Oct 10th, 2015 09:50 AM

Hi
Bouillon Racine is great.
5pm is early afternoon for me - do you plan a drink or dinner or ?
I am usually free around 8 but can come around 6 if only drink planned.

Our plans are still in flux for that night, but, right now it seems we will be available around 5:00, not later on. Hope that can work......

kerouac Oct 11th, 2015 09:44 AM

17:00 is time for just drinks, isn't it? How could reservations be necessary for a drink?

In any case, the website says this, which is good news:
De 15h à 19h, le Bouillon fait également salon de thé et propose un Happy Hour de 17h à 19h.

Traviata Oct 11th, 2015 11:13 AM

Kerouac.........will you be joining us????????? That would be great!

socialworker Oct 11th, 2015 01:55 PM

Kerouac, sometimes when one has a large-ish group at certain places in the US--even just for cocktails, they prefer that you have a reservation---so that they can set up a table….
