Paris GTG March 15,16,17,18, 19

Friends and Fodorites, These are the dates we'd like to meet up.
Let's hope the weather is better in March.

Traviata Feb 6th, 2012 12:00 PM

Mimi,

Since we arrive on the 14th, we are available for any of those dates.

As before, just let us know when and where......we are eager to see you!

cigalechanta Feb 6th, 2012 03:30 PM

pick any date you want, , even if it's just the five of
us (Miki and Dick)

Traviata Feb 8th, 2012 03:29 AM

Mimi,

Why don't we meet on Friday, the 16th...that way if something comes up and we have to move the date, we will still have time to GTG.

Where are you staying??? We are in the 5th...hope you will be nearby.

Pepper_von_snoot Feb 8th, 2012 03:58 AM

You are off to your beloved Paris, Mimi?

Well, congratulations! Good pour vous.

What hotel are you staying at?

Who are you travelling with? gomiki?

We want details, Miss Thing!

Your old, old friend,
Pepper

Cathinjoetown Feb 8th, 2012 04:51 AM

We'll be in the States then, but am so happy for all of you who will be in Paris.

cigalechanta Feb 8th, 2012 08:27 AM

Ok,Traviata, but must be in the afternoon because Miki, Dick
Nikki, and I are going to a jazz club in the evening.
Not agreed on a hotel yet. Will post as soon as I know.

My love, peppercorn, you are spicey and miss you.
Going for only one week. It's a desperation trip.
I was alone sick for Christmas an New Years followed by a flood and had to replace the kitchen ceiling, followed by two weeks no heat so I said fudge it, gotta get away.
wish you were joining me. My only worry is Pastis. he's never been boarded.

Traviata Feb 8th, 2012 10:50 AM

Mimi,

Since you all arrive on Thursday and have plans for Friday night already, maybe we should move to Saturday...or Sunday??? That is fine with us and would give us a bit more time. We'll check in with you before making any other plans for those dates.

cigalechanta Feb 8th, 2012 11:11 AM

we'll be dining with you at the Comptoir
with Abby and Tomas

Pepper_von_snoot Feb 8th, 2012 11:26 AM

Well, good for you, Mimi. You need to get away.

I am too ill to go to Thailand and Burma for two months with Aunt Judith to help with her book on Asian art.

Keith wants for us to travel to the Italian Lake District and Geneva area of Switzerland in May so I can regain my health.

I feel like I am living Thomas Mann's "Magic Mountain."

Swiss sanatoriums pour moi only I am not dying of TB. ROFL!

Bon Voyage, mon amie

Get well soon, be sure to take your meds.
Kiss, kiss to Jackie-O

cigalechanta Feb 9th, 2012 02:51 PM

We finally settled on an apartment, not easy to find two bathrooms at a resonable price.
Our choice is on the Blvd St-Marcel thast sits at the edge of the 5th touching the 13th.

Traviata Feb 10th, 2012 03:18 AM

Mimi,

For that part of the trip, we will be staying very close to Place Monge, near the Arena......so we are, sort of, in the same part of the 5th...

What do you think about the GTG on Saturday or Sunday since you have plans on Friday night already??

klondiketoo Feb 10th, 2012 03:32 AM

So happy for you Mimi! We'll just miss you; we don't arrive until the 24th mais une autre fois, peut-être?!

Pastis will pout probably when you get back but he'll get over it, I bet!...only one way to find out....

Nikki Feb 10th, 2012 05:09 AM

Just pointing out that the jazz club Friday night is midnight. Dinner before that is possible, and it is the free midnight jam session at Duc des Lombards, if anyone is interested.

Glad to hear about your apartment, Mimi, and that plans are getting finalized. This is going to be fun.

cigalechanta Feb 10th, 2012 08:19 AM

Looking foward to it, hope there will be others to meet.
We will be joing you at the Comptoir

cigalechanta Feb 12th, 2012 08:45 AM

cigalechanta Feb 14th, 2012 06:40 AM

Has anyone eaten at Le Coupe-Chou in the 5th?
When I googled I found good reviews about food and wine and atmosphere but the pricing varied from moderate to very expensive

Nikki Feb 14th, 2012 07:23 AM

I have not eaten there, but I stayed in an apartment over it a few years ago. I have heard mixed reviews.

Laidback Feb 14th, 2012 05:15 PM

We found that although it had some charm the food was mediocre at best---it has been a few years
