I have heard about this *elsewhere* (no names, no pack-drill). I am threatening to come. You have been warned. (I'm quite nice in real life)

Hi Mary,
Count me in for the GTG at Le Train Bleu ....I will have no qualms about ordering the full Monty.
If you're collecting email addresses to keep everyone posted about the specific time to gather for the feast , I'm [email protected]

See you in Paris.
Judy

Judy, that sounds like a great idea! Or people could sign up for an account on VT & RSVP on the meeting thread.

David! I would love to meet you. Maybe you don't recall but at one point you'd offered to do a JTR tour for my kids & me? So I was eventually going to meet you anyway!

I'm a relatively new poster, and your GTG looks great - only I will be arriving in Paris on Sunday a.m. 2/19!
Any recommendations for a restaurant that will be open on Sunday evening? We (my partner and my daughter) are staying in the 7e.

Any info would be most appreciated!
best,

Oh, so disappointed that the GTG is the 17th. I will be in London then and will not arrive until the 20th. I hope to have a chance to meet some of the "names on the board" sometime soon.

I would SO love to attend but won't be in Paris until March 1. Poo. I'll be travelling solo, so it would have been such fun to have one night that I didn't need to dine alone.

Wishing you all a safe and fabulous trip!

David, be afraid--be very afraid!

Mare, wish I could, too! One of my former profs is living in Paris now, and whenever we e-mail, he always asks when I'll be in Paris....poo!

Hi Beatchick!

I wish I was going to be in Paris at the time of the get together, I think it would be fun to meet you in person. I was looking at your homepage on VT, and in my opinion, anyone who goes to Violent Femmes concerts and quotes REM is a kindred spirit! I hope everyone has a wonderful time. Say bonjour to Paris for me.

Looks like I'll miss you all by exactly 30 days - arriving Paris March 17 from the Dordogne.

But with Beatchick in charge I know you'll have a fabulous time!

Oh, no, please don't make me the one in charge!!

StCirq, I certainly enjoyed meeting you the last time I was in Paris. Those 2 days we hung out together stand out as some of the best times I've had in that city. You will be sorely missed!

Gracie04, you are so sweet - thanks! It was a huge thrill to see the VF in person. And I love really early REM - like Documents album backwards. My great love, Mr. Connolly, likes the Green album forward. When we were 1st married our REM collection was complete! We also saw Coldplay in concert at Riverbend this past August - what an amazing concert.

I'd love to meet you in person, too, gracie04. Keep in mind, though, I was supposed to meet Sally Fowler on my very 1st trip to Paris & we never quite met up with each other. But 5 years later, here we are getting ready to meet up at Le Train Bleu (and hanging out in the 7th together on her 1st night, I hope, and sharing Michael Osman's tour guide services the next day with starspinners). So maybe next year we can meet up - I hope so!

Also, thinking from VT won't be able to make it as she is moving from her home in Hawaii to some other exotic locale but NYGaston will be there to join us!
