Paris GTG April 14-21 2006
 

Hi. Is anyone else going to be in Paris that week and up for a get together?

Lorraine is from Philadelphia and on the good side of 55, I'm from Palm Beach County Florida and on the wrong side of 55 - and we'd like to meet up with fellow Fodorites for a coffee, or a glass of wine, to say hello, meet new friends and compare notes.

Any suggestions on a good place to meet up?

We'll be staying on Rue St Honore from the 13th and leaving Paris on the 23rd.

oops - forgot to mention, we're leaving for London on Monday afternoon, April 10th, so if you're interested in a GTG we all need to hear about it in the next day and 1/2.

I will be arriving in Paris on the 20th around noonish. I would love to meet you and your friend, possibly that evening for dinner. I am also from Florida, (Pinellas County)and will be staying at the Hotel Bonaparte (Ira strikes again) ;-)

Is this your first trip to Paris also?

No First trip was in 1970. I've been there probably a dozen times. Last time was last September. I took 4 years of high school french and actually remember it so I manage to get along.

Hope some more Fodorites will be in Paris at the same time. Seems like many have been scared away - Ah well, less crowded for us a the museums :)

The cafe at the top of the Pompidou Centre is supposed to have great views over the city, so it could be a good place to meet toward the end of the afternoon (after touring the museum) to catch a sunset.
