Paris get-together report

It is my last day in Paris. Went to a very fun get-together last night at the Bistrot du Peintre. We were a group of eight posters and traveling companions. Spent three hours or so eating, drinking, talking, and gossiping about the rest of you. Well, only a little of that last bit. But the folks at the next table did come over and tell us to keep down the ruckus.

Tedgale was there, as well as Carol A, SharonG of the Tennessee Trio of Terror, and Maile, with assorted companions. None of these folks will probably see this, as they are all in Paris, but I was asked to post a report, so here it is. I really enjoyed meeting everyone, and the conversation (as expected) was lively and fascinating. We must do it again some time.

I was happy to see that you had a GTG, I posted last week asking if anyone was interested in Paris, June 12th at Harry's Bar. Not one person responded, I thought geez do they think I am wacked out or somthing. I can understand, I am a bit reluctant at times to offer information, perhaps it was Harry's...Regardless glad that you had a nice visit, too bad about the table next to you. I always find it refreshing to hear and see people on holiday having a good time.

Thanks for posting. I love to hear about GTGs.

Hi Nikki :)

"It is my last day in Paris."

Only for now, dear, only for now! ((f))

What a hoot a Paris GTG would be! So far away, yet so close to friendship and great conversations.

So, was Le Clip everything we've all imagined? ;)

Thanks for the report!

Nikki, thanks for posting. I enjoyed reading about the planning for this GTG as well as reading about your apartment. From Tedgale's post, it sounds like it is quite nice. We had a wonderful Paris GTG last May at Bistrot de l' Oulette arranged by my friend Monica. I'm starting to plan a trip back next May.

Actually, Tedgale started a report here:

Faina, thanks for that link.

I'm home now and up with jet lag.

Le Clip did not make an appearance. Sharon claims her hair is now too short to wear it, but I think she could have managed it.

I'm wondering how the other folks did, the ones who posted on the thread where we were organizing this get-together but who decided instead to go for a bike ride that night. It was cold, raining, and pretty miserable that evening. Those of us who went to dinner made the right choice for sure.

Yes, I loved my Paris apartment, I would happily live there.

Just saw this. Anyone who wants to check my post can just click on my name, above.

As I mentioned there, I ran into Sharon and her friend Saundra in the Louvre yesterday......Small world, etc.

One of you must have a picture or 2 to post for the curious!

Nikki, I am so glad to hear you liked the apartment. I'm usually pretty confident in my descriptions and recommendations, but I am always haunted by the thought that something might have changed.

BTW, just in case anyone wants to know what the interior looks like, here are a couple of photos I took when there in 2006:
