Paris Gardens in October

We are traveling in October this time due to availability of airfare purchased with miles. We usually travel in September and always enjoy the gardens in France--Villandry is my favorite. Will anything be in bloom in October? We are considering a daytrip to Giverny (1st visit) or a return trip to Versailles.

There will be late blooming flowers in lots of places. Don't forget the Jardin des Plantes.

If you know gardens, not a lot is blooming in October, it's not going to be remotely the same as spring/summer. It would obviously help if you were there closer to Sept than November. Annuals are usually in bloom until frost, of course.

Ah Kerouac, beautiful photos of the Jardin des Plantes which I have not visited in all my trips to Paris. It is now at the top of the list for October. I love fall color probably because seasonal change in southern California where we live is less dramatic than in other climates. I have a small water-wise garden which is in bloom most of the year here. I prune the roses in January and the daffodils bloom in February.

Avalon, I would love to see photos of your October visit to Giverny. That will help us decide how to spend our time on this trip.
