Paris for You Free walking tour guide

I just discovered in my Paris file, a cool little free guide I must have picked up somewhere while there on a previous trip. It's a real gem with 13 sort of walks to see the best of the city. It's really all here--the basic stuff for first timers and the off the beaten path stuff for those who have been a time or two. My guide is from 2007/8 but I went on the website and found a clickable link to the 2009 version. Here it is.

http://en.parisinfo.com/press-and-tr...you-2008-2009/

Frankly this is as good as other guides I've spent $25 for. Check it out.

Thanks for the link! I'm heading to Paris in May with my friend Louisa and her daughter.

Thanks! I'll be in Paris end of April and I'm hoping the weather will be better than last Novemeber, so I can actually get out and walk instead of high-tailing it for museums!

Hi Julie- thanks for the link. I wish each one would tell you which area it covers before having to download the pdf file. And I looked at 2 of them - they are more of the format of "sites to see" in a particular neighborhood than an actual walking route. Having said that, it's still a nice free guide.

If anyone has come across other free walking guides (ie, an actual walking route with descriptions along the way), I'd love to check those out too.

Free walking guide?

Try these people.

You can get a free walking guide in the flesh:

Note: there is a small set up fee but the guide is free.

yk, you're right in that the walks are more like groupings of sights than turn right at the fountain directions for a specific walk, but there are maps and they do a nice job of grouping and of giving the groups a theme of sorts. I found it very useful to supplement a more specific guide of walks with very detailed instructions.

Julie, thanks! I'm heading there twice this summer - once with Dad and once with Mom.

I started exploring the site where I got the guide from www.parisinfo.com and there are lots of other things downloadable from there as well, most notably another guide called Paris Gourmand that lists restaurants by arrondisement. It's not definitive by any means, but it's a start especially for first timers.

For 2016 it seems the closest to this guide I could find at that same website was:

12 themed walks in Paris
