Took my 11 yr old granddaughter last April. Some of the things she enjoyed were the Paristory (http://www.paris-story.com/), appx an hour long "history movie";

the free (45 min long) fashion show at Gallerie Lafayette (http://www.galerieslafayette.com/inter/index.asp) but be prepared to shop your way down the seven floors!!;

the 3 hour long ride down the Seine and thru the locks and underground tunnel of the Canal St. Martin, where you can stand on the deck and get splattered if not too cold! (http://www.pariscanal.com/croisieresdemigb.htm-I prefer this one because the cost is the same as the other company but this one begins near the d'Orsay and you get to ride the Seine in addition to the Canal; the other company begins at the marina basin);

my g-daughter is artistic and had her own list of which Impressionists she wanted to see at the d'Orsay (there's a nice set of books called "Off the Wall Museums Tips for Kids" for $9.95 each; here's the one for the Impressionists - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...&s=books);

there's a Sunday art market at the Edgar Quinet metro stop where you buy face to face from the artist (website is in French - http://www.marchecreation.com/montpa...-granddaughter took lots of time and came home with her own choice of art-this is nowhere as commercial as the Place du Tertre near Sacre Couer where they cater to the tourist trade, and personally I thought the quality of work poor although there were a few gems here and there);

we spent lots of time in Sephora on the Champs for perfume and light makeup (http://www.sephora.com/help/stores.j...p;city=Paris);

we also attended a gospel choir performance usually in one of the old churches-it is a real kick to hear gospel sung by young French blacks, and the music is lively enough for children (http://search.fnac.com/search/nodes/...;CurArea=RPA);

we had hoped to do the Sunday brunch at this museum but ran out of time (http://www.musee-jacquemart-andre.co...rvices_3.htm);

surprisingly my g-daughter loved the two cemeteries we visited; we had to drag her out - Montmartre (find the Degas vault) and the Montparnasse (find the mirrored bird tombstone and the huge fat cat on another grave);

we had ten days and never made it to Versailles; there's always next year! I also swear by the Middleditch Paris Mapguide (can be bought at Amazon). I had bought several guidebooks for her thru eBay (as cheap as I could) so she could make her own suggestions.

You might also want to check out Mike's Bike tours which now uses both bikes and Segways for their tours.
