Paris Flower and Garden Festival
I saw this article about this festival that will be going on while we are in Paris.
http://thingstodo.viator.com/paris/f...rden-festival/ The article mentions that some of these gardens aren't normally open to the public. Having never been to Paris before, I'm hoping that there are garden lovers here that can make some recommendations. We'll be staying in the 5th, so I'm most interested in knowing more about the possibilites closest to there. |
Kathie- I'm jealous.
the ones that most interested me on the list were the ones in the Marais - those and any others that you can't normally get into would be what I would head for. please report back! |
OMG, thank you, thank you for this post. We will be in Paris at this time and absolutely love gardens. We will definitely check out a few of these sites.
I have to add that almost every year we are in Paris in Sept. and have found such wonderful events around Notre Dame. The best was a few years ago when the Pope was in town. After dinner we came upon thousands of people holding candles and singing "Ave Maria" in the Notre Dame plaza. What a site! |
Most of those listed in the 5th are normally open to the public. Even though you are staying in the 5th, you will likely be in Arrondisements 1 - 8 during the course of normal sightseeing. I would try to see as many as possible, especially those in the 3rd, 6th and 7th.
What a treat for those of you who will be in Paris at that time! |
We've attended this event twice. Some gardens are nice - some not so. However, it is certainly worth visiting as many as possible so that you can go to places that are off the well-worn tourist paths.
