Paris / Florence / Rome hotels
 

We finally have our airfare so now we need help with hotels. My husband, 16 yr old daughter and myself. Suggestions for the three cities would be very helpful. We would like to stay in the center of things so we can walk to most everything. Our budget is $250 per night max. I've been finding it difficult in many places to find one room for three people. Thanks for your help.

In Florence, we love Hotel Casci. I have been there five times!! It is not fancy or elegant. BUT, it is central, spotlessly clean, they have rooms that can accomodate up to 5 (or 6?) people. It is a small place, run by a wonderful, helpful and extremely accomodating family. The breakfasts are wonderful and much more hearty than most other Italian hotels. I believe their prices fit your budget. See the reviews also on tripadvisor. They rank #4. www.hotelcasci.com

Does anyone have any ideas for Rome or Paris?

I'd recommend a search here for hotels in Paris, there are many threads and recommendations for 3 people accomodations.

I also recommed Casci. We stayed in a quad there (1 large room) a few years ago. In Rome we stayed in the Santa Chiara hotel also in a quad (this was a 2 room suite). The location is great (behind the pantheon). I think it may be a bit higher than your budget though.

Many years ago, in Paris, we stayed in Grand Hotel St. Michel, also a room for 4. It was a suite, not much space but it was adequate and located in the left bank area. Having 2 rooms was a nice plus as well. The room faced an inner courtyard so there was no view, but there also was no street noise (which is a plus).

We stayed at the Lord Bryan in Paris a few years ago, due to it's low cost and close proximity to the Champs Elysee. They have suites that would be fine for 3 people.

Another vote for the Casci. Our family of 4 stayed there and loved it!

In Rome we stayed at Hotel Miami. We had a beautiful room, quite large actually, and a stunning bathroom. The hotel was easy walking distance to all the main sites.

In Paris we enjoy the Hotel Muguet. We had a room with a queen bed and then a daybed, which they made up for our daughter. Our room had a spactacular view of the Eiffel Tower!

In Paris, check out the Hotel Familia and the sister property the Hotel Minerve, both on rue des Ecoles in the 5th. I think they both have triple rooms. In Rome, try the Hotel Portoghesi, not far from the Piazza Navona. I don't know if they have triples, but it's a good value hotel in a prime location.

We have stayed at the Hotel du Palais Bourbon in Paris, in the 7th, in a very comfortable room for three (DH, DD, myself; just like your trip). I like this part of the 7th that is to the east of Invalides. Lots of food shops nearby, too.

In Rome, the Portoghesi might stretch your budget for three. I'm assuming we're talking about US dollars, right?

The San Carlo has rooms that hold three, in a good location, as does the Santa Chiara.
