Dh and I took a long break at the hotel from 4 or 5 till 7, and then felt refreshed enough to go back out for dinner and another stroll;
that was on the nights that we did not have set plans....

Great question. Me,my wife,her mother and our teenage daughter will be in Paris June 17-24. I got lots of ideas from the posters. Also, it is too bad you leave on June 21. That is the Paris Music Festival. When we were there two years ago there were lots of music related events well into the evening. Perhaps your next trip. Have fun . . . we will!

One of my favorite Paris memories is climbing to the top of the Eiffel Tower at night with my then-12 year old son. I also think the Bateau Mouche is terrific; it's a fantastic way to see the sights of Paris lit up at night.

I don't know if this qualifies as "night-life", but I thought I would mention that the Louvre is open until 21:45 on Wednesday evenings, part of the Louvre is open until 21:45 on Monday evening, and the Orsay is open on Thursday evenings until 21:45. If you can't fit museums into daytime hours, this might be an option. (Please check my times and days to be sure.)

Movies are not a bad ideas at all. We've done this several times - but not the first runs that are at all the malls. Instead do part of a festival. They're always having them on the Rive Gauche.

We've done several - often with double or even triple shows (depending on the length of the movies). My favorite was a Marx brothers festival - we did A Day at the Circus and Duck Soup - how can you beat that?
