Paris: Eiffel Tower all the way to the Summit first or last?

Managed to reserve tickets online for end of September to go up the Summit of Eiffel Tower, but my booking is for 20:00. I check the sun set guides and it indicates that sun set would be around 7:30 - 8:30.

My question is, do I go straight up to the summit or hang around level 2 first then go up?
What would be the course of action?

Cheers travellers!

I would check the line for the 3rd level elevator and then make a determination. If the line is short then take advantage of it and go to the top then.

I have enjoyed going to the top and walking down the steps to the lower levels.

All the way to the top. You're going to be there so you may as well go.

Sunset isn't that unpredictable, it is around 7:30 at the end of September. It is 8:30 right now, but won't be by the end of the month. Of course, that means it will be twilight for a while or dusk, not dead dark. But what do you plan to look at from the Eiffel Tower in the dark? If it's city lights, that wouldn't be the best time. If you like dusk, you've got it.
