Paris doré (Golden Paris)

On Télématin TV program this morning, I saw a photograph Richard Melloul and Mireille Darc (a famous French actress)climbing monuments with a crane to take pictures of the golden statues at the top. They found very nice things up there! It has never been done before.
You may see them here :

Click on Paris Doré and then on the main picture.

Otherwise this website is full of interesting portraits of famous people ((P))
Enjoy! :-)

I was sure you would like them :-)
You can also use this link to get a wider window

But what is also important is that those photos will be sold at an auc sale for the profit of la chaine de l'Espoir ( http://www.chainedelespoir.org/sites/uk/ )
If you can understand French, Mireille Darc talks about it http://tinyurl.com/6zgc5k
"Les photos seront mises aux enchères le vendredi 31 octobre 2008 au profit de l’association La Chaîne de l’Espoir."
The sale will take place on the 31st Oct but I can't find where!

They are nice photos.

Before I looked at them, the two I had in mind were the génie de la Bastille and the statues on the Pont Alexandre III. And of course, both are there.

What lovely pix! I was going to take binoculars with me for St. Chapelle - looks like I should take them on the street, too!

I wonder why the chariot driver (Peace) on the Carrousel Arch isn't gilded, but the two flanking Victories are. Some sort of pro-war political statement?
