Paris - Disney Resort Lodging
 

We (my husband, two children ages 2 and 3, and myself) are planning another visit to the Disneyland Resort in Paris this year during Thanksgiving week. Last year we stayed at the Sequoia Lodge at about 200 Euro/night and it was fine. The room was nothing special and the restaurant there was average but the hotel offered character visits, was convenient, and had a nice large fireplace near the lobby with a seated bar area. Has anybody here stayed at any of the other resort hotels and, if so, what is your opinion of them? I'd like to consider trying one of the other hotels this visit.

For what it is worth (which for your purposes probably isn't much) we've stayed in the Dsinayland Hotel twice and in the Castle Club rooms (view of the castle, free breakfast buffet and all those other perks..) and for us it was "worth it." But when you have a major "Disneyphile" in the family who is also a big stockholder you can understand the attraction...

Since we haven't stayed in any of the other on-site hotels it is hard to compare but at this particular hotel the rooms are about as good as they get and you are closer to the main entrance, etc.

Is it worth it for most folks..unless being closer and in more "upscale" accommodations are major issues for you I wouldn't bother. But I would also stay ON the property vs. off regardless.

Not sure if this will help you, but my husband I went to Disneyland Paris in June (yes, just the two of us no kids) and we stayed at the Holiday Inn at Disneyland Resort. We paid about 80Euro/night. I'm sure if you book in advance you can get it even cheaper, I saw it once for 46Euros/night that's without breakfast. Our price was without breakfast too. You get free shuttle to the Park, the bus leaves every 15 minutes or so. There were no character visits I don't think, but you can call the hotel and ask. It was just a cheaper option of staying within the whole resort/park. There was also a Movenpick Hotel by us that was nice.

I have only stayed in the santa fe but from what i understand many people really like the Hotel New York as Well as the Disneyland Hotel. I would shy away from the Newport as it is undergoing extensive renovations currently. If you do stay in the Sequoia again , stay in the Montana rooms which are in the main bldg as they are said to have been fully renovated.

Thanks for your recommendations. Never even thought about staying at the Holiday Inn. Looks as if they have an indoor pool which the girls would LOVE. I need to check out the Movenpick as well. Thanks!!!

We have stayed both on property (Newport Bay Club Hotel) and off property (Marriott Village d'Ile-de-France).

Since you have two small children, I recommend staying on property at the hotel closest to the main gate (walking distance if possible) that your budget allows. That way you can conveniently return to your hotel room midday for a nap, a swim, or to retreive an item left behind. The kids will no doubt enjoy the Disney trappings of an on property hotel (character visits, Disney merchandise in the hotel shop, kid friendly restaurant).
