Paris Dining Easter and Easter Monday

My apologies if this message is posted twice - first time I tried to send this it appeared to be rejected.

We arrive in Paris on Easter day (our 1st trip to France). From "Cheap Eats" I note that many restaurants are closed on Sundays and holidays. Since Easter Monday is also a holiday, I would like to book our dinner reservations through our hotel for both days before we arrive. We will be staying in the St. Germain arr and are looking for any suggestions for a preferably moderately priced restaurant serving any type of food. By the way, I did fax our hotel for dining suggestions and their reply (in perfect English) was that they would be happy to make our reservations but did not respond to my request for their dining suggestions. Many thanks in advance for your help.

I don't even need a "laundry list" of restaurants. . .a couple of names would be great or a website or book that I might have overlooked. This is a mom and teenage daughter (who speaks French fairly well)- our first time in Europe - and don't want to be eating cheese and crackers in our room on Easter if we can avoid it. Even pointing out the obvious to me would be appreciated at this point!

As well, I am looking for a restaurant - brunch for Easter Sunday. Zagat.com sorts by brunch and open on Sunday. The cafe in the Virgin Megastore on Champs Elysee lists open on Sunday and the cafe is recommended on websites and books I have for food and fun. I tried hotel restaurants and they all seem quite expensive.
Sandra --- will you post names/addresses of likely to be open spots?

I haven't been in Paris on Easter but I have other holidays, just as big or bigger (eg, Bastille Day) and I would just not worry about this myself, there are lots of cafes open, especially in tourist areas. I easily found a cafe for lunch (a very nice one) on Bastille Day with no wait around Clemenceau metro stop. During Easter, Paris is jammed with Europeans on vacation and many places will be open to benefit from the tourist dollar. If you want dinner in some special restaurant, I would try to reserve. I've been in Virgin Records and I don't think their cafe is exactly what you would want for a good experience; it would be like planning a meal around the cafe in a Borders bookstore, at least to me; as I recall, it's in the basement near the ticket sales office and bookstore. Zagat's only rates the food there as a 10 (which is pretty low on their rankings, I look for at least 12-13 on food). All I can say is that Cheap Eats tells you which ones are usu closed holidays and Sundays, so you could work from that. The Fermette Marbeuf in the 8th is very nice (no, not cheap, but moderate) and is open most days, you could try there, but it's not that near St-Germain. The Brasserie in the Hotel Lutetia is very near there and it will probably be open; they have decent food and a nice atmostphere, I hear; their brasserie is not too expensive.
