Go to Dijon--fast on the TGV and that would be an experience itself.
You've been many times, but HE hasn't. Are you going to the science museum? Are you going to show him the basement of the Louvre that shows how the castle/chateau was built? Are you going to the Carnavalet to show him how Paris looked through the centuries (in art), and the "cartoons" of the Revolution? How about the Cluny for Medieval times?
BUT why NOT Versailles if you must leave--castle, major major history lesson about democracy, etc.?
