Paris day trip to Bruges

Is Bruges too far for a day trip from Paris? Its a little over 2 hour journey.

Depends how long you are staying in Paris and how you plan to travel form Paris to Brugge.

When you are just a few days in Paris, I would recommend not to take a day-trip to Brugge. 2 hours is probably the most optimistic travel schedule. Not taking in account possbile delays (trafic jams, late trains etc).

It's about 200 miles each way. That's not quite "while we're in the neighbourhood" range.

I would not consider it worth the cost, time, and hassle.

While Bruges is certainly well worth visiting, I agree that it's stretching it to make it a day trip from Paris. IF you go, it's a minimum one-night stay IMO (and we always prefer 2 nights).

I would count on about 3 hours each way.

If you take and early bus and come back late, it is possible but it makes for a long day. Bruges is rather small so it can be seen in several hours.
