Paris Cooking Classes
I've decided to take a cooking class during my week in Paris in May. I'll probably go with Cook 'n With Class because they offer a significant discount when you rent an apartment through their sister company, Feels Like Home in Paris.
But I'm interested in exploring others and hearing if any of you have experienced anything you particularly enjoyed.

This is from Patty's current trip report "Champagne and foie gras."
<After lunch we said goodbye to Nikki and the 4 of us walked over to the boulangerie 134 RdT run by Benjamin Turquier. We had a fun 2 hours making baguettes and croissants and sampling other baked goods. It was also an interesting insight into how a real bakery is operated. We had taken a baguette class last year at La Cuisine Paris which was very good too and more geared toward home baking (they used flour close to US all purpose, regular ovens, pans, etc) so this class in an actual bakery complemented the other class well. We thought the baguettes we made at La Cuisine were good but these were on another level and we’re now even more spoiled. The class was €75 per person. There’s no set schedule. It’s basically whatever time/date you and Benjamin agree on. No early mornings because they’re too busy baking.>

We took a macaron class with them a couple years ago and absolutely loved it! Our class only had 3 of us in it, so that was really nice. We will definitely do more classes with them on return trips as we felt it was a good deal and a lot of fun.

Mimi, I'm staying in the 18th on Caulaincourt. I stayed there last year and really enjoyed it. It's a charming street with every thing I need (shops, cafes, bus stop right in front of the apartment). The apartments are very comfortable, free long distance, wi-fi, and even a mac for your use. It's perfect for pretending you live in Paris for a week. Someday I hope I can stay for a few months.

Hi Grassshopper,
Based on experience, I can recommend Le Cordon Bleu Paris.
https://www.cordonbleu.edu/index.cfm...sID=1&TagID=16
They're located in the 15th and their instructors are great. The very place where Julia Child attended. I've a pic of myself standing beside her framed pic, lol ! English speaking chef instructors interpret and cook with the French ones if there's a student need for it.
I subscribe to Cookin' with class on FB but didn't realise that they have a sister company that looks after apt rentals. I'm going to check them out as I may need an apartment for a week in October. Thanks for the info.

We're signed up for the croissant and macaron classes with La Cuisine in June. The cooknwithclass were a little out of the way in Montmarte and I thought too expensive.
I'll post about them when we get home. I can't wait to try to make pistachio macarons!

Thanks for copying and pasting for me, Miki!
Other than the 2 classes above, I have only taken one other class at the patisserie/chocolatier Un Dimanche a Paris. We took the chocolate truffle class which was a lot of fun. They provided a translator free of charge as the chef for that class didn't speak English.
La Cuisine has a market class too if you're specifically looking for one of those.
Ritz Escoffier should still be open in May. I believe don't close until August for renovation. I tried taking a macaron class there but didn't book early enough.

How about cocktail making classes, at Harry's Bar? Fun concept! http://www.parisgourmand.com/dernier...arrys_bar.html
Sorry, it's in French.
